  1. What is a karyotype? A karyotype is an image of all the chromosomes, matched into pairs and lined up from biggest to smallest.
  2. What do scientists use karyotypes for? To see if a person has all the right chromosomes.
  3. How many pairs of chromosomes do humans have? 23.
  4. Both males and females have two sex chromosomes. Using the letters X and Y, describe the sex chromosomes of Males:XY Females:XX
  5. What do you think would happen if a person was born missing a chromosome or with too many chromosomes? I think that if they were born with missing a chromosome or with too many chromosomes they might have a disease.
